Overview of Activities
Liberty Christian School begins our school week with Chapel every Monday. This time provides us the opportunity to commit our week to Christ and to commit to growing in our relationship to Him and others.
Every chapel includes announcements, singing, and a Bible lesson which may be delivered by guest speaker from our community. Two different chapel times are held, with younger students and older students gathering separately. This better allows for us to present God’s Word in an age-appropriate manner.
Field trips are one of the ways that LCS students are able to have their classroom education “brought to life”. Every student enjoys at least one field trip each semester, with most classes having a field trip each nine week period. These outings have taken our students to several outdoor locations such as Blanchard Springs Caverns, Pinnacle Mountain, Coleman Crystal Mines, and Toltec Indian Mounds, just to name a few. Students have frequently attended productions at the Arkansas Children’s Theatre, visited the State Capitol and other historical buildings, and enjoyed outings at the Little Rock Zoo and Gillam Farms. Area businesses have allowed our students to visit their facilities and learn more about the services they provide to Searcy.
The sixth grade students look forward to traveling to Alabama each spring to attend Space Camp. This three day outing allows our students to learn more about the history of the space program and enjoy several simulated space activities. As every grade at LCS has studied space in the science curriculum, this extensive field trip is truly a culmination in their course work.
Throughout the year, students enjoy various school activities such as “Hat Day”, “100th Day of School Celebration”, field days, etc. Class parties are always a favorite as we celebrate such holidays as Christmas, Valentines Day, and Easter. Guest classroom speakers and extra enrichment projects prepared by our teachers, help to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
